Another great thing about the awards season is that it is really the people's season. I mean there is something for ev-ry-buh-dee! The Oscars, the Grammys, The Independent Spirit Awards, The Blogger's Choice Awards, The Golden Globes, The Nebula Awards, Sundance, The Superbowl (well, kind of an award). I'm sure there are some humanitarian lovefests and pig hollerin' contests I have missed, but the list is just so long. A mom only has so much time to keep track, especially when she is busily planning the Mini Mites No Skate Ice Hockey Preschool Athlete Honor Banquet and Weenie Roast. Momentous occasions, people. The times to fly our banners of love and appreciation.
On that note, turn your attention to a giant of journalistic integrity and local social justice reform, the Minnesota Progressive Project blog. This fine community of dedicated political frontliners (and me) are nominated for a Blogger's Choice Award! Hooray! So put on your peach silk satin gown with the Lady Di sleaves and the Glamorise wonderwire bra to cast that vote! Take part in the people's process.
