Welcome to my newly-designed website!  I have been dragged, kicking and screaming, out of html that is "so 2006"  into a more blogified blog and sleeker representation of my insanity. So now it's looking, about say, 2008 around here.

It's a work-in-progress, so expect updated pages and graphics changes over the next couple of months.  And if you missed anything I said from June 2009-July 30, 2010, you can still find it untouched by progress at my
OLD BLOG ARCHIVE.  Yee-haw!(www.bluecollardaughter-archive.org).

Buzz is a word I have used a fair amount in my adult life.  How about you?  Caffeine buzz, sugar buzz, buzz me up, baby! and, what's the buzz?  An infrequent and accidental beer buzz.  Recently I have discovered that websites for edgy and high-end electronic whatsamajigs have something called "buzz buttons" where you can scan the latest celebrity chatter about your modish, conspicuous little consumable.  I don't own any such gadgets, what with being bankrupted by the costs of childrearing and pathological bibliophilia, but I run with such an edgy crowd, I of course know all about them.  Until recently, I'd say my most frequent use of the word buzz had to do with the use of copious amounts of Benadryl.

Enter Toy Story.  You've gotta hand it to these Disney Pixar guys.  They know how to just squat a cartoon character in your living room and start carpetbagging the love.  Toe and Roo have both gone bananas for these digital buddy films, and really I don't know exactly how it first happened (Jimmy!). One day I woke und everything was abuzz.  To infinity.  Oh and so beyond.

So, Buzz Lightyear is Toe's fave.  T. carries the cheap rubber knock-off action figure we got him from a local Mercado (hecho en Mexico--hopefully not painted with lead) and talks to Hub and me in a deep Buzz bravado/falsetto (it's sort of like reverse puppet therapy, if that helps).  Toe as Buzz: "Excuse me, Tovi's Mom! Tovi needs some orange and yellow oval fire chips right away!  And a few for me too, thanks!"  Fake Buzz if very polite, if not a little bossy.

Roo, on the other hand, spreads his pre-K love thin.  Of course Rex is a fave character (being a dino and all), but then there is an awful lot of giggling and pretend that centers around Slinky Dog and Hamm.  Then there's Woody, who, in an unfortuante stroke of marketing (I think) is gracing the front panels of all the little boys' underroos these days. Roo likes to wear the Woody underpants on his head for some reason, and shout "Yippee, cowboy!" Now, Woody, there is a word I have really not used quite so much.
